Redskins vs. Panthers: Evaluating Beck's 1st Half

All eyes on John Beck today as he gets his first start for the Skins.

- Pros: Beck is in control of the team, gets the play in quick, clear and confident audibles, and looks real quick on his feet both in the pocket and out of the pocket

- Cons: Beck at least twice has chosen his receiver before the snap. One throw was to Fred Davis in triple-coverage and should have been intercepted after hitting a defender in the hands. Another was on 3rd down in the red-zone and Beck missed a wide open Anthony Armstrong for a sure first-down; instead he stared down his intended target and a Panthers defender read his eyes and knocked the ball down.

- Summary: Beck is showing good intangibles, but not a comfort level in the offense that would allow him to smoothly move through his reads.
