Skins vs. Cowboys: The Great, The Good, and the Not-So-Good

The Great
  • NFC East Champions!
  • Alfred Morris.  200 yards rushing, 3 TDs, and sets the team record for rushing yards in a single season.
  • Jim Haslett.  I've been hard on him in the past, but there's no question his schemes, particularly his ability to disguise coverage, has led directly to turnovers time and again.  The key interception by Rob Jackson was a direct result of Jackson faking blitz and dropping back without Romo noticing.
  • London Fletcher.  The Captain and surrogate coach of the defense, Fletcher makes smart audibles throughout the game, and had two sacks and a bunch of tackles.  We can forgive his dropped interception.
  • DeAngelo Hall.  He kept Dez Bryant in check, which was they defensive key to the game.
  • Rob Jackson.  MASSIVE interception by Rob Jackson when it counted most to stop a potential game-tying or game-winning drive by the Cowboys. Jackson has been making big plays all season.
The Good
  • Richard Crawford.  The Cowboys picked on him at times and scored on him, but Crawford also recorded an INT, had a key tipped pass on a 3rd down, and has proved to be a good punt returner.
  • RGIII.  Still had difficulty trusting his knee, which noticeably reduced his speed, and also may have contributed to some inaccurate throws.  Yet he still made plays on his feet, protected the ball, and is the leader of this football team.
  • Perry Riley.  He sometimes looks like the next London Fletcher, such as when he ended the game with an exclamation-point, body-slam tackle of Cowboys tight end James Hanna.
The Not-So-Good
  • Kai Forbath.  Missed his only FG attempt, and his kickoffs are routinely short. But he had to miss sometime after making 17 in a row, so might as well be in the 1st quarter.
  • Dropped passes.  Seems drops have been a recurring theme this year.  Today Josh Morgan and Pierre Garcon both dropped balls that would be caught by most 4th graders, and I believe both were on 3rd down plays.
