Redskins vs. Cowboys: The Great, the Good, and the Not-So-Good

Frankly the Redskins didn't deserve to win. They were up against a battered Cowboys offense, had the benefit of several bad Cowboys snaps and clueless Cowboys receivers, but couldn't stop them when it counted. Romo was the picture of poise in the midsts of adversity, and Grossman was the picture of backpedaling and turnovers. I hate to say it .. but Tony Romo earned this win.

The Great
- Laron Landry: He's back ... back on the field, and back making plays including a forced fumble and several tackles
- London Fletcher: He's still a tackle machine ... Fletcher hits a Cowboy, Cowboy goes down
- Graham Gano: I'm a long-time Gano supporter, and Gano's starting to look like the strong accurate kicker I think he is

The Good
- Tim Hightower: he's not running for a ton of yards-per-carry, but holds onto the ball, blocks well, and is doing quite well as a receiver out of the backfield catching a key first down and a touchdown
- Chris Cooley: nice to see him getting healthy and hauling in a few receptions, although he doesn't look to be at full speed or strength to me
- Sav Rocca: muffed hold, but just a fantastic job punting the ball as usual ... he punts high and deep, with minimal returns and many punts ending inside the 20

The Not-So-Good
- Rex Grossman: more of the same ... he knows this offense well, and produces lots of yards along with ugly ugly interceptions and fumbles
- Redskins defense against the run: gave up too many long runs in the second half
- Redskins defensive line: doesn't get a consistent push (although Bowen had a great backfield tackle on first and goal in the 4th quarter)

1 comment:

  1. I couldn't watch the game. But sense that Grossman and Kyle were not taking what the Dallas defense would give them, but trying to put it away with heroics.
